I’ve been happily procrastinating over lunch by playing Google’s interactive homepage game (high score: 173!) and browsing National Geographic’s photography section. Through this process, I’ve learned that I’m very drawn to yellow today.
From Indiana University’s Meaning of Colors:
- Yellow is the color of sunshine. It’s associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy.
- Yellow produces a warming effect, arouses cheerfulness, stimulates mental activity, and generates muscle energy.
- Yellow is often associated with food.
I’m not sure about the scientific rigor of this analysis, but does it matter? I really like pretty things (see previous post about personality strengths and happiness). So, enjoy these beautiful images and forget about why. I apologize if you feel the need to snack afterwards. I’ll share mine.
